With 25 years of restaurant experience we have compiled an extensive collection of innovative & traditional recipes. Only a small selection of these recipes have been chosen for the menus that are displayed on this website. In addition to our everyday menus, Wheatberry offers daily chalkboard specials for both lunch & dinner featuring local ingredients from Southwest Michigan’s fertile farmland, family dairies, fish houses & butchers.
Wheatberry’s Redbud smokehouse produces the area's finest hickory-smoked pit-barbecue & wood-fired meats. We are very proud to bring our award winning pit-barbecue to Buchanan, MI. Our recipes have received many accolades & awards including “Best Ribs” from Chicago Magazine.
Wheatberry purchases the highest quality meats from renowned butchers. We season with our own private blended spice rubs. We slow smoke with local, hickory & fruit woods in some cases for as long as 15 hours in order to provide the most flavorful & tender pork, beef, chicken & fish. Our sauces are all homemade & simmered to perfection.
